White House Conferences on Aging (WHCoA) are decennial events held to develop recommendations for the President and Congress on issues, policy and research in the field of aging. The fifth WHCoA was held December 11-14, 2005, in Washington D.C.
The theme for the Conference was "The Booming Dynamics of Aging - From Awareness to Action." For more information on the 2005 WHCoA click on www.whcoa.gov. With 114 delegates, California had the largest delegation in attendance at the 2005 Conference.
The California Health and Human Services Agency and the California Commission on Aging are coordinating a post WHCoA statewide forum on November 29, 2006, in Sacramento. The event will bring together the California delegation along with State Leadership, constituents and other stakeholders to "Turn Ideas into Act
