Images of Aging and Older Adults in the Media
The Strategic Plan for an Aging California Population (2003) contains two goals related to the images of aging:
- promote aging as a continuum and a positive aspect of the life process, and
- work with the entertainment sector to eliminate stereotyping and promote a positive view of aging.
To help achieve these two goals, the California Commission on Aging Ageism Sub Committee identified several links that provide information about ageism in our society. These links provide better understanding of the general depictions of aging in the entertainment industry.
